Turquoise blue water as far as the eye can see, soft sand, the rustling of palm trees and waves in the background – travel time is truly the most wonderful time of the year, isn’t it?
That’s what Karina Kawaletz thought too. She runs her own travel blog and shares her travel adventures with more than 16,000 followers on Instagram under @karinas_awesome_places.
Karina reached out to us because she wanted to travel to Thailand for an extended period and urgently needed a new suitcase. We were happy to advise her and support her next big step with one of our great Samsonite suitcases. Karina quit her steady job as a copywriter in Augsburg, dissolved her apartment together with her husband Michi, and both became self-employed to pursue their (and our :-) ) passion more intensively: traveling.
Together with her husband, they emigrated to Thailand for several months. Especially important: a large, practical, sturdy, and as light as possible suitcase for the long journey from Germany to Koh Phangan. Koh Phangan is an island located in the Gulf of Thailand, known for its monthly Full Moon Party. The island boasts many wonderful sandy beaches, emphasizes water sports, has great restaurants, as well as hiking trails and waterfalls—a dream destination!
Karina and her husband are not backpackers, as Karina writes on her blog; they travel with suitcases, and for shorter trips, also with carry-on luggage, but always with a trolley. Since Karina already owned a Samsonite suitcase, it wasn’t hard to convince her of the benefits of having another. For every trip, the couple plans to travel lighter, as they focus less on owning things and more on creating unforgettable memories.

For Karina and Michi’s move abroad, they needed a really large suitcase since the contents had to last for several months and the weight limit of 30 kg for checked baggage had to be respected.
