The brand initially became known for its wool hats with detachable pompoms. Since 2018, the company, together with its team and customers, has been developing backpacks with the goal of making them more original and sustainable.

For the sake of animal welfare and environmental protection, Cabaia relies on backpacks made from vegan and recycled materials. Currently, around 50% of its products are made from recycled materials. According to Cabaia, the current limitation with recycled materials is that they are either expensive and therefore unaffordable for many people, or they are not durable enough. The brand is unwilling to accept these limitations, offering a lifetime guarantee (after registering the product with the brand) on the Cabaia backpack and aiming to be a counterpoint to the fast fashion industry. Therefore, they take their time developing new models instead of launching collections multiple times a year. Research into the use of recycled polyester continues until the perfect material is found.

Cabaia is proud to be OEKO-TEX Standard 100, REACH, and EVE VEGAN certified. Furthermore, the company has received the complex B Corp certification. This commits them to achieving their sustainability goals within the set timeframe and demonstrating progress through regular audits. Cabaia's next goal is to have 80% of their products recycled by 2024. The company aims to set a new standard not only for the Cabaia backpack itself, but also for packaging, shipping, and transportation. Since 2020, the entire company has stopped using single-use plastic. Cabaia avoids air travel and relies on rail and road for transportation.
